MyPlaylist Finally Closes Its Doors

Myplaylist is now closed... Since the demise of Seeqpod last year who generously provided the music content via their API, this site been on death watch. Unfortunately that time has now come...

I could have switched to the YouTube API for content (like others in this sector have done) however, given the current climate with there now being many more advanced music discovery sites by companies who have gone to great lengths to make mutually advantageous deals with the music labels, IMO it is now time to stand aside and give these officially endorsed sites every opportunity to make their ventures a success.

History: There were many years of failed policies by the labels who fought to protect their copyright and refused to take advantage of new technology, it therefore left a vacuum in which other innovators filled and hence came offerings such as Myplaylist. (more...)
